Charitable Giving

Each year, the Orpheum Theatre donates tickets and merchandise to more than 300 organizations.

Policies and Procedures

The Orpheum Theatre is committed to working with surrounding communities to generate a positive impact throughout Memphis, Shelby County and the Mid-South by supporting registered charities in the region through our Charitable Giving Program. The Orpheum feels community involvement is important and shows our support for the great number of organizations working to help those in need.

Making a Request

All requests for tickets and/or merchandise are limited to auction and/or raffle activities designed to raise funds for registered charities in the Memphis, Shelby County and Mid-South area. Preference is given to charities where the funds go directly to those in need.

The Orpheum Theatre is a 501(c) 3 and therefore does not make cash gifts.

Due to the overwhelming amount of requests, tickets should be limited to one request per organization during the calendar year. The Orpheum Theatre does not donate merchandise to be used as prizes, volunteer recognition gifts or for internal United Way campaigns.

Application Process

All requests must be submitted in writing on the letterhead of the requesting organization and state the nature of the event, the date of the event, and how the funds will be used.

All requests must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the date of the event for which the donation is needed. Donations are filled on the 15th of each month.

Requests may be submitted digitally through the form below or mailed to:

Processing Your Request

The Orpheum Theatre's Donations Review Committee will make every effort to process your request in a timely manner.

Due to the high volume of requests received, we cannot respond to phone inquiries regarding the status of your request.

Donation certificates will be mailed on or before the 18th of each month.  If your donation needs to be picked up at our administrative offices, you will receive a phone call.

Following Up

Organizations receiving a donation from The Orpheum Theatre must submit the follow-up form (enclosed in donation package) specifying the amount raised by our donation and the amount raised through the fundraising event.

Schools and Religious Institutions

Due to the overwhelming number of fundraising requests from schools and religious institutions, we are unable to consider these groups for Broadway tickets. However, as part of our desire to support education and the community, we can provide an Orpheum item (book, bag, t-shirt) and/or poster. We also support the schools through our extensive Educational offerings and programs.
