Winners of 2012 High School Musical Theatre Awards

On Thursday, May 24th, The Orpheum Theatre announced the winners of the 2012 High School Musical Theatre Awards in a dazzling, Tony™ style awards show hosted by Tony™ Award nominated actress and country artist Laura Bell Bundy.

Modeled after the Tony™ Awards and now in its third year, The Orpheum’s High School Musical Theatre Awards recognizes achievements in all areas of high school musical theatre. This event is part of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards program which includes thirty programs from across the country.

Students and supporters from all twenty-four participating schools gathered at The Orpheum to watch over 200 students perform and accept awards on The Orpheum stage.

The Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress will travel to New York City in June to compete in the Jimmy Awards held at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway.

The 2012 High School Musical Theatre Awards were presented by Thomas and Betts. The 2013 Orpheum High School Musical Theatre Awards will be May 23rd.
