This Fall, the Orpheum Theatre is putting on its inaugural race with the “Break-A-Leg 5k” and starting the holiday season off with a “bang!”

Taking place on Sunday, November 23rd at 2p at 203 South Main Street, the Orpheum is kicking off its run of A Christmas Story, The Musical, showing at the Theatre November 25-30, with a themed Holiday Race. Come dressed as your favorite character from the classic movie and run along the streets of Downtown Memphis, ending with a block party next to the beautiful historic theatre.  Costume Contests and Awards will be given out at the post party!

All proceeds benefit our future Centre for Performing Arts & Education.

All proceeds benefit our future Centre for Performing Arts & Education.

The Centre, which is under construction next door to the south of the Theatre, will be that one missing element that has separated The Orpheum from the other major performing arts facilities across the country. With this added space we will be able to increase the number of young people and families that we have involved in our nineteen programs - currently 70,000 to upwards of 100,000 by 2016. And, grow the overall programming of the Theatre.
