The Lula Washington Dance Theatre founded by Lula Washington has built an international reputation for the earthiness, vitality, energy and humanism of its repertory. The dances tell stories drawn from African-American history, culture and life. Examples of previous performances include “The Little Rock Nine”, “Global Vil-lage” and “The Movement”. These types of productions present the unique opportunity for students to understand historical events through a creative, energetic, engaging medium. The Lula Washington Dance Theatre has also performed pieces with contemporary themes of the positive and negative influence of cell phones and computer technology in “WWW.Connections” and the positive role models of professional athletes in “Beautiful Venus & Serena”. The internationally acclaimed, Lula Washington Dance Theatre focuses on community out-reach, particularly with students and schools and seeks to provide individuals from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds with an understanding and appreciation of their differences. The Company has an education mission of using dance to motivate, educate and inspire young people, enabling them to be productive and successful citizens.

What is the refund and /or exchange policy?

All ticket sales are final. Refunds, exchanges or retroactive discounts are not possible.

Can I bring my camera and/or phone?

The use of electronic devices is prohibited in the theatre. This includes phones, cameras, video and audio recorders, flashlights, etc. Due to performance copyrights and the disruptive nature of electronic devices, guests using these items may be ejected without refund.

Does my child need a ticket?

Children under four years of age are not generally permitted in the theaters. At designated shows, children of all ages are permitted. However, everyone regardless of age must have a ticket.

What is the food / beverage policy?

Outside food and beverage is not permitted in the theaters.
