Development Manager

Department: Development

Position summary

The Development Manager contributes to company success by playing a strategic role in the Orpheum Theatre Group’s Development Department in supporting the Orpheum Theatre and Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education, through sponsorships and fundraising event income, including but not limited to, auctions, various yearly events and, advertising.

Essential Functions 

Essential functions are listed in order of importance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

Weekly Online Auction Management 

  • Researches and gathers the selection of items included in the weekly online auction
  • Creates a calendar of the selection of weekly auction items showing future items to be auctioned three to six months in advance
  • Ensures accurate entry of items into the online auction software 
  • Photographs, assigns values, and writes out descriptions of auction items 
  • Notifies buyers of winning and arranges payment, pick up and mailing  after the auction
  • Prepares auction financial and inventory reports
  • Develops a system to stay current on any changes and/or advancements in the auction software 

Annual Fall and Holiday Online Auction Management

  • Organizes all auction items into their order to appear in the online auction
  • Coordinates the presentation of the online auction homepage, sponsor recognition, donor communication and check out/payment presentation 
  • Photographs, assigns values, and writes out descriptions of auction items 
  • Responds to buyer questions and facilitates a smooth process during auction
  • Notifies buyers of winning and arranges payment, processes all online credit card payments, arranges pickup or mailing of the item upon close of the auction

Golf Tournament Management

  • Manages relationship with event venues 
  • Oversees the development of all promotional materials for fundraising events including both print and online
  • Assists in the cultivation and recruitment of new and renewal sponsorships 
  • Enlists new and returning teams 
  • Manages all aspects of the events, including but not limited to set-up, staffing, prizes, and follow-up
  • Displays stewardship in all interactions with participants, sponsors, and staff of events
  • Prepares all event financial reports

Raffle Management

  • Secures raffle prizes
  • Processes the annual State Raffle Application
  • Promotes raffle through print and online avenues
  • Manages the renewal solicitation mailing
  • Oversees Development Coordinator’s processing of all raffle sales orders
  • Prepares the State reporting at the close of the raffle
  • Manages volunteers and staff who sell raffle tickets

Sponsor and Partner Benefits Management

  • Coordinates perk program for season ticket holders and the Spotlight Partner Program
  • Solicits renewal and new partner and participant prospects through communicating the benefits of the program
  • Coordinates the creation and mailings of perks card for Season Ticket Holders
  • Manages benefit offers on the Website and in Marquee
  • Retrieves and tracks trade gift card inventory

Marquee Advertising 

  • Develops seasonal marketing materials
  • Communicates with and promotes renewals of annual and seasonal advertising sponsors
  • Markets and solicits new annual and seasonal advertising sponsors
  • Collaborates with Graphic Designer  in order to fulfill requests for internal and sponsorship ads 
  • Sells advertising for the Family Series Show program
  • Approves the Marquee when completed

Sponsorship and Prospecting Cultivation

  • Generates leads and prospects for the sponsorship of various events, such as High School Musical Theatre Awards, Movie Series, Ticket Back, and Ticket Envelope
  • Builds and manages the solicitation list 
  • Manages solicitation and acknowledgment mailings 
  • Follows up with sponsors to ensure the fulfillment of benefits
  • Attends community events as a representative of the Theatre


Education: Bachelor’s Degree

  • Development Experience: 2+years
  • Administrative Experience: 1+years
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint


  • Excellent written, oral and technological communication skills 
  • Coveys professionalism in appearance and demeanor 
  • Fosters a high regard for exceptional customer service
  • Possesses strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands

Employee required to spend majority of time remaining in a seated position looking at a computer screen. In addition, employee will be required to do some standing, walking and moving boxes up to 25lbs. Employee will be in a well-lighted heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.

Orpheum Theatre Patron Services Representative


Salary Range:  starting $9.50, incremental raises based on performance and tenure

The Orpheum Theatre is seeking enthusiastic individuals for Patron Services positions in our box office department.

Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Professionally represent the Orpheum Theatre by offering superior, individualized guest services.
  • Conduct timely and accurate over-the-counter and phone, season and single ticket sales transactions, exchanges, etc.
  • Continually learn current and/or new systems, policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate and detailed information regarding all Orpheum events and facilities via face-to-face, telephone and email communication.
  • Follow proper daily procedures regarding cash control, and ticket sales reconciliation .
  • Resolve guest complaints by determining the cause of the problem and offering a swift and positive resolution.
  • Effectively function as a member of the Patron Services team.
  • Assist with box office projects as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates will have strong, proven customer service skills and ability to efficiently and accurately handle cash transactions in a fast-paced environment. She/he will maintain a positive public and professional appearance at all times. Possess strong computer skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. We require everyone to be courteous, prompt, and reliable and must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Position summary

The Housekeeper position provides a clean, sanitary comfortable, orderly and satisfying surroundings for the employees, and public. The housekeeper promotes sanitary conditions which prevent the spread of germs and odors.

Essential Functions 

Essential functions are listed in order of importance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 


  • Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings. 
  • Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
  • Requires working in damp, dusty and dirty areas. 
  • Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials. 
  • Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc. Must comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, State Health Department, etc. 
  • Clean areas as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. 

Safety and Compliance

  • Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services. 


Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred ‚Äč

  • 6+ months of housekeeping experience.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and other personnel.
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours daily). 

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands

Requires standing and walking about 90% of the time; may lift and carry objects up to 20 lbs.; may climb stairs; may bend, twist, kneel, stoop and reach overhead; may be exposed to irregular ranges of humidity and temperature.
