Students, Teachers & Families

The Orpheum is passionate about literacy, arts and Memphis. Through our community and education programs, Mid-South residents have access to the Orpheum as a historical treasure and performing arts facility. The new state-of-the-art Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education next door serves as the new home for these education programs and community partners, which enrich the lives of almost 50,000 students and families in our community.

Through storytelling, drawing, play-acting, and dancing, children make connections to what they’ve learned and experienced in a tangible and powerful way. Additionally, attending performances builds listening and observation skills and improves cognitive learning.

Performing arts education provides opportunities for children to explore their own interests and talents and learn to express themselves in a creative, healthy, and inspiring way.

Arts education and community programs are made possible by the generous support of the following foundations, corporations and organizations:  AutoZone, The Broadway League, Target, International PaperNational Endowment for the Arts, Sedgwick, South Arts, and Tennessee Arts Commission.
