About Diana Ross
Born in Detroit’s North End neighborhood, Ross rose to global prominence as the leader of The Supremes, shattering records with hits like “Where Did Our Love Go,” “Stop! In the Name of Love,” and “You Can’t Hurry Love.”
As a solo artist, she continued to break boundaries with timeless classics including “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Upside Down,” “The Boss,” “Touch Me in the Morning,” and “I’m Coming Out.” Her artistic essence transcends music, with a profound influence on fashion, stage, film, and television.
A recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and American Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, Ms. Ross is a legend in every sense. With over 100 million streams, downloads, and sales worldwide, her voice has been described as “honeyed” and “angelic.”
Her 2025 appearance at the Met Gala shut down the red carpet, generating worldwide press and reaffirming her status as a singular fashion icon. She headlined New Year’s Eve in Times Square (2026), with the ABC broadcast delivering the highest ratings in four years, reaching over 30 million viewers.
From her Golden Globe-winning portrayal of Billie Holiday in Lady Sings the Blues to designing her own wardrobe for Mahogany, Ms. Ross helped set cinematic and fashion standards. Her Tony Award–winning one-woman show, An Evening with Diana Ross, proved her to be a truly multidimensional artist.
During the 1980s and ’90s, she paved the way for generations of female artists. Her debut solo album and the landmark release Diana solidified her Guinness World Record for the most hit singles in the U.S. and U.K.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest live performances in history, her legendary 1983 Central Park concerts, staged over two days, drew a record-breaking audience of more than 800,000 fans, while her Super Bowl XXX halftime performance remains one of the most memorable in the event’s history as she exited the stadium in a helicopter.
In 2021, Diana Ross released Thank You, a heartfelt tribute to her audiences. In 2022, she headlined the Glastonbury Festival on the Pyramid Stage, captivating the largest live and broadcast audience in the festival’s history.
A devoted mother, grandmother, philanthropist, and enduring superstar, she continues to share her voice, grace, and love - touching hearts and inspiring audiences around the world.
