About the 2026 Musical Theatre Intensive

Wicked traces the story of the future Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good back to their days at Shiz University when they discover that dark forces are at work behind the sparkle and pageantry of Oz.

With auditions, classes, rehearsals, and guest artists, our teaching artists will inspire future performers, build confidence, and provide foundational training for those considering auditioning for college theatre programs or pursuing careers in musical theatre. Students will be divided into small ensembles based on their audition so our teaching artists can adapt instruction that meets students where they are and provides additional challenges for students with previous experience.

Students will step into the roles of Elphaba, Galinda, Fiyero, Madame Morrible, Boq, Dr. Dillamond, and The Wizard as they perform select scenes, songs, and musical numbers from Wicked, culminating in a public performance on the final afternoon of the session.

Date and Time: June 15-18* AND June 22-26, 2026 - 10am-5pm (With a special public performance on the final Friday afternoon) *Please note that the program will not meet on Juneteenth in recognition of the holiday.

This session is by application only. An application with submission materials is required to be accepted to the program. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Early applications are strongly encouraged.

All application materials must be received by May 12, 2026. Final payments are due May 26, 2026.
