Released in 1975, Michael Martin Murphey’s “Wildfire” became one of his most significant hits. The lead single from Blue Sky Night Thunder, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Adult Contemporary chart. Wildfire's cultural impact endures, frequently appearing on classic radio and in country compilations.
The worldwide success of “Wildfire" and his 4th album “Blue Sky Night Thunder” led Michael Martin Murphey on a journey as a singer-songwriter through multiple genres of music- pop, country, western, bluegrass, folk and jazz. The Wildfire Anniversary concert will feature other selections from Blue Sky Night Thunder such as “Carolina in the Pines," “Blue Sky Riding Song,” and “Desert Rat” but will also include songs from award-winning albums COWBOY SONGS (“Cowboy Logic”) , MICHAEL MARTIN MURPHEY (“What’s Forever For”) and BUCKAROO BLUE GRASS (“Jesse James Trilogy”).
