About this Interactive Field Trip

How do we give students permission to feel? Young people need tools to name, express, and regulate complex emotions and feelings. Actors are experts at using the tools of body, voice, and imagination to walk in a characters’ shoes and express emotions. Infusing literacy and fine arts standards, an Orpheum Theatre Group Teaching Artist will guide 3rd-12th grade students through building an emotion vocabulary, telling stories to understand emotional responses, and standing in a characters’ shoes to imagine the causes behind feelings and reactions. Students will imagine and reflect on their own emotions in a culminating performance with their peers

ACTivating Emotions integrates Tennessee State Standards in Fine Arts with Tennessee State Standards in English Language Arts.

Available for bookings December 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027 by inquiry only.
